Come make a custom laser-cut pronoun pin and get certified to use the Idea Lab’s Glowforge at the same time.

In this in-person workshop, attendees will be guided through the basics of laser cutting and engraving with the Glowforge at Humber College's Idea Lab. This workshop is recommended for beginners who have never used a laser cutting machine before. 

By the end of this tutorial, you will: 

• Know what laser cutting is and its common applications 

• Distinguish between approved and non laser-safe materials  

• Recognize and apply measures for the safe operation of a laser cutter

• Know how to make a Glowforge booking 

• Be able to follow the steps to execute a Glowforge job 

• Understand the parameters for creating projects that meet Glowforge specifications 

• Know where to access additional laser-cutting resources 

By completing the tutorial, attendees will be certified to book the Glowforge at the Idea Lab. Alternatively, laser cutter certification can be completed online at Idea Lab: Glowforge.
