Creating Live Action Videos (Mac)
In this workshop attendees will watch and participate in a demonstration of the creation of a live action video, from planning and scripting, to shooting and editing footage. The demonstration will focus on best practice and simple strategies for capturing well-lit footage with clear audio either using the library studios or their own equipment (e.g. cell phone) Time will also be dedicated to on-camera presentation skills. The second half of the workshop will focus on editing footage in iMovie, a free application found on all Apple computers.
After this workshop attendees will be able to:

Book time and equipment in the Humber Libraries Studio spaces.

Plan and script/storyboard a video for an assignment.

Implement strategies for recording well-lit video footage with clear audio that is suitable for editing.

Locate royalty-free and Creative Commons licensed images and music (and attribute when necessary).

Locate the major editing functions (trim, add text, transitions, and music, adjust audio levels, remove green screen, export) in iMovie.
